In 1957 a special order was placed at Höfner for a Violin Bass with only one pickup. This was produced and delivered and appears to be the only example of such a bass.
We have made a limited edition of just 12 basses that are inspired by that bass made back in 1957. Finished in a beautiful antique violin sunburst, fitted with a single black bar pickup and the oval control panel it is a minimal example of the iconic Violin Bass. A must for enthusiasts and collectors of the 500/1 Violin Bass series.
